History of the Department
Department of heatmetry, diagnostics and optimization in power engineering was created in January 2015, on the basis of two departments: heatmetry (head – Ph.D. Dekusha L.V.) and diagnostics and optimization in power engineering (head – corresponding member NASU Babak V.P.).
The heatmetry department was created in 1970 by corresponding member of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR Gerashchenko O.A. – the founder of the scientific school of thermal measurements. In 1991 the department was headed by a disciple of Gerashchenko O.A. ‒ Dr. Sci. Grishchenko T.G. Under her leadership the development of heating instrument direction was continued. Since 2003, the head was Ph.D. Dekusha L.V.
Department of diagnostics and optimization in power engineering was organized in 2011 by the corresponding member of National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine V.P. Babak on the basis of the department of cogeneration technologies (head – Dr. Sci. Bileka B.D.). In turn, the cogeneration technology department was founded in 2005 on the basis of unstructured laboratory of thermal conductivity Department – the oldest department of the Institute of Engineering Thermophysics, NAS of Ukraine headed by academician Dyban E.P.
The Department consists of 25 researchers, including 1 corresponding member of National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, 6 doctors, 12 candidates of sciences.
