HEAT AND MASS TRANSFER MODELING LABORATORY FOR ENERGY OBJECTS AND THERMAL TECHNOLOGIES
The laboratory was created in November 2018 on the base of the heat and mass transfer modeling department that was created in 2000. Since the establishment of the department and laboratory is headed by Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Krukovsky Pavel Grigorovich, who works at the Institute of Engineering Thermophysics of National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine since 1975.
The average number of the department is 15 emp., composed of 1 doctor and 5 PhDs. From the date of creation of the laboratory in its 6 persons were defended PhDs dissertation.

DIRECTION OF WORK
Development and application of modern methods and computer technologies for heat and mass transfer analysis of energy objects and equipment, gas turbine manufacture, engineering, building construction, industrial processes, instrumentation, etc. in order to optimize the equipment and processes parameters design and prediction.
Methodological (fundamental) basis for the solution of applied problems of analysis, optimization and prediction of heat and mass transfer processes is a computational and experimental approach based on computer (computational) models, the adequacy of which is provided by the parametric and structural identification and estimation using experimental data on the investigational process or object and solution of inverse problems.
The basic tools are developed by the department modern technology and computer programs for the analysis, optimization and prediction of heat and mass transfer processes in the energy objects and equipment, mechanical engineering, building construction, industrial processes, instrumentation and others.
In particular, the laboratory has a license to use the software STAR-CD and ANSYS-CFD. STAR-CD and ANSYS-CFD using modern high-performance numerical algorithms providing the solution of three-dimensional non-stationary problems of any complexity in the heat and mass transfer, fluid dynamics and structural strength. The guarantee of the quality of programs is an ISO 9001 certified, and the fact that extensive use these programs leading industrial corporations of the world, engineering companies and research centers.
In the laboratory of STAR-CD and ANSYS-CFD are basic computer tools for the practical application of computational and experimental approach to the analysis, optimization and prediction of heat and mass transfer processes in equipment, objects of power and heat technologies.
In the laboratory of special programs designed FRIEND, COLTAN and TABC to solve different kinds of scientific and engineering problems.
