VENTILATION INTENSIVE METHOD OPTIMIZATION FOR ENERGY EFFICIENCY INCREASING IN RESIDENTIAL BUILDINGS

Problem. More than 80% of buildings in Ukraine have natural ventilation system, which often does not work well. People ventilate the room by opening the balcony doors, windows or window leaves. The degree and the opening may be different (constant method – with a small opening area or intensive short method – a large area of the room ventilation) (fig. 1), these parameters depend on the habits and experiences of human. Selection of airing time can allow saving energy for heating the room compared to the constant method of ventilation.

Proposal of solution. With the help of the developed CFD-models are made calculations to optimize the intensive method of ventilation to improve the energy efficiency of residential buildings (Fig. 1,2). The energy savings can reach up to 15% compared with constant ventilation.

Fig. 2. – Indoors velocity vectors under intense method of ventilation.

As a result of research obtained the nomogram method for intensive ventilation buildings, which will determine the optimum time of ventilation depending on the size of the ventilation openings, room volume, the temperature difference between the room and the environment.

The novelty consists in the creation of a nomogram, which allows each person who wants to save energy, use this method of ventilation with the possibility of energy savings.
