OPTIMIZATION OF THE INTENSIVE METHOD OF VENTILATION IN RESIDENTIAL BUILDINGS IN ORDER TO INCREASE ENERGY EFFICIENCY
Problem. More than 80% of buildings in Ukraine have an unorganized ventilation system, which often works poorly. People ventilate the room by opening balcony doors, windows or vents. At the same time, the degree and time of opening can be different (permanent method – with a small opening area or intensive short-term method – with a large area of ventilation of the room) (Fig. a-b), these parameters depend on the habits and feelings of the person. The selection of the ventilation time can save energy on space heating compared to a constant ventilation method. Fig. c. shows the velocity vector in the room.

Suggestion for solving the problem. Using the developed CFD model, it is shown that the intensive method of room ventilation achieves energy savings of up to 15% compared to constant ventilation. Fig. d allows you to determine the optimal ventilation time depending on the size of the window, the volume of the room, the temperature difference between the room and the environment.
